Long time since I sat down and wrote something. I have the time to do it, but don’t feel like writing any stuff. My mind is totally blank, and has become lethargic, I would say.
I wonder what makes a person to do things, things that one likes, and the things that one doesn’t like, but goes on doing it for the sake of others.
My colleague went through this blog, and commented stating, she found it a bit boring, and she asked me to add some spice to it. I don’t know but I like the way it is, my personal space, my writings. And sometimes, I’m very proud of it too. Maybe it isn’t up to the mark, but yes I love all this stuff I have updated.
So I think I would go ahead updating stuff that I like, come back once or twice and just enjoy reading them.
What say ?

Adieu, My Father

A Pillar of strength was he,
Sharing in all my little moments
Of Joy, Gloom and Sorrow,
Departed one day taking away
All the sunshine of my life.

Those days, I still recall
Oh! How slowly they moved
Each second filled with his agony and pain
Unmitigated and endless it seemed
But moaned he not!

One fateful early morn,
To death, he himself surrendered
Leaving bereft two broken hearts
To face, solve and overcome
Their life in this bleak world.

Like a could in the sky
He floated, floated far away
We could only stand and stare
At the changing horizon
Muttering a sad “Goodbye.”

Silent Musings

Sometimes i stand alone
Even though I’m In a Crowd
I’m lost - in a world of my own
With just my thoughts and me

Nothings matters to me
The people around me
Nor their conversation
And time just goes by…..

Hark! suddenly i'm pulled back
By an arch of a brow
Or a soft tap from a friend
With a questioning look

And i nod,to acknowledge
That i was there all the time
Only to be returned by a smile
That says she knows exactly where i was.

Heights Of Joblessness

Mondays, I always loved this day during school and college, the main reason being friends, catching up with people and for some interesting episodes that normally takes place in the bus I travel. You know, Teenage - sweet age........ But now, Mondays, I'm sleepy from my weekend travel, mind you, I travel every weekend from Bangalore to Coimbatore and back to Bangalore on Sunday Night. To add more misery, I find myself jobless, hey who said with less work, you can relax - #$%$^^ - it really gets pretty aggravating. So I tried the best solution, why not rest in sleep, when awakened by my roommate and asked the question, which is the Land of the White Elephants. (Today is her regular off and shez on an online quiz over the cell phone and is royally cheating her friends, which reminds me, next time I need to be extra careful with her) I'm totally jinxed for half a minute, thinking, why don't they send you there for a change?. Hey, when they say don't take calls on your work floor; I think they mean good to you. Anyways, my colleague -Sunil, has the answer for it as he had eavesdropped into the conversation. Well, hez a sweet chap, as in case, I forgot to lock my system , takes the honor of messaging my friend, just one of them, I think his way of throwing out his dislike for her. Anyway up from sleep, thanks to my sweet roommate, I just sit and look around. Well, the floor I work in, is always buzzing with activity, people are busy, don't ask me what I do, I work; I mean real work, three in a team (Priya, Sunil and Me). Today being Monday, we don't have much work, resting to start of tomorrow..........I believe . Going back, Sunil, is very much bothered about a girl's high shoes, he seems to be ranting about it, on how can she can walk, wearing it. Did I forget to mention, the girl looks good, my simple advice was to get it from her and try it out, to know how you can walk wearing it.Guys’ #&^ %(*0.... Another friend and dear dear teammate, Priya, isn't as jobless as people would find, as she is always glued to the screen. On a closer look, you would know she playing some weird game, shez too good, shez mastered most of the games in Yahoo.......... I think they need to give her some kind of title as Master of Yahoo Games or something close, for all the troubles she takes,........... As for Sunil, I think, Analyst would be apt --- in the world of girls, not to mention a girl would make him turn. If the girl is pretty, then if you are talking to him, then it would be like talking to a wall, and if the girl is simple, then he is all ears to u. Finally me, I don't think I should blow my own trumpet, me a modest girl(I can hear that - starting to blow my own trumpet)..............well, what do I say, as of now, I have been woken up from sleep, so I'm going hunting for the coffee machine (Please God, it should work)......................

Smile

I see you smile at me
And I think how beautiful you look
There spreads a warmth within me
And I smile back at you

You don't respond to me
But still possess that alluring smile
I stand rooted at the spot
Mesmerized by your sweetness

I would love to take you down
And pride on holding you
But then the other potraits next to you
Would miss you next to them.

Republic Day Wishes.

I asked a friend what Republic Day meant to him, he said, a days leave. Well, when I was in School, it meant the same thing to me.

But then, it was not long before I realised how valuable the day is.

This Post is to provide an insight into why we celebrate Republic Day and how important it is for us.

Jan 26th, 1950 - The Constitution Of India came into effect.

It was on this day, the Constitution was signed. Which meant India had become a self-governing and an independent country .
It also gave the people the right to vote and choose their leader..

What is the Constitution?

The Constitution lays down the basic structure of government under which the people are to be ruled and establishes the main organs of government namely:
1) the executive (in simpler terms, it is the government)
2) the legislature (the two houses, which debate on the bills, vote on it and pass it)
3) the judiciary (is the court with its judges and magistrates).

An Insight into the Constitution:

The Constitution was passed by the Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949, and came into effect on January 26, 1950.

Rajendra Prasad was elected president of the Constituent Assembly while B.R. Ambedkar was appointed the Chairman of the Drafting Committee.

Importance:
The Constitution is superior to all other laws of the country. Every law enacted by the government has to be in conformity with the Constitution. The Constitution lays down the national goals of India - Democracy, Socialism, Secularism and National Integration. It also spells out the rights and duties of citizens

To mark the importance of this occasion, every year a grand parade is held in the capital, when different regiments of the Army, the Navy and the Air Force march past in all their finery and official decorations.
The President of India, who is the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, takes the salute.
The parade also includes lots of traditional dances to symbolize heritage and National Integration in India. It traditionally ends with a colorful take off from the national air force jets in tiranga formation.

Commemorating - Subhash Chandra Bose

January 23rdToday is the birthday of Subhash Chandra Bose, the founder of the Indian National Army.

India today, stands as a liberated nation, owing its freedom to the struggle of great leaders like Netaji and many others.

India’s freedom was not a single man’s dream nor a single man’s struggle. It was a struggle powered by many people, who with their undying love for this country have fought aganist the British Rule. Their great visionary ideas and their patriotism for our country is the cause for what India is today.

A lot of people who were a part of the Freedom movement have gone unsung.

On this day, let us take a minute to remember the great leaders and all the people who were behind the Indian Freedom Movement.

JAI HIND

Down Memory Lane

Back from Holidays, I’m thinking of being a regular blogger. Well, this can also be taken as one of my newyear resolution (100 by 100 pixels). [Gosh, but I’m so bad at keeping my resolution, lets wait and see]

As I walked home
These are lines that crossed my mind.

My body walking forth
And thoughts down the memory lane
To dig into the past, to conjure up memories
That were still a part of me

We were a bunch of kids, sometime ago
Innocent, Reckless and brash
I reminisce the times shared
For its all that I have now

The Joys, the pains, the laughs, the dreams
The bus rides, the secret grins we shared
The fights, the night walks, the cycle races
The cricket matches and hopes we had.

The morning walks often ended up in arguments.
The boats in the rain ended us being sick
Midnight birthday wishes ending up in fun

The money pooled in to go for a movie
The first love letter written by all of us
To help a friend.
The days were beautiful that it just glided by

But then slowly everything changed
Some had to move, some had to stay
Now everyone comes home for the holidays
But just stand to say a hi and a bye

I wonder, what happened
What came in between,
That today we stand as strangers
To our own good friends
